    Rex Delos Santos is the Founder and Principal of KASAMA Consulting, LLC. Rex previously served as the Senior Manager of Federal Grants at the KIPP Foundation, a Charter Management Organization and sector leader, with a network of 27 Regions spread across 22 states, impacting 120,000 PK-12 students. Overseeing a federal portfolio totaling over $165MM of grant funds from the U.S. Department of Education, Rex led the successful management of two of KIPP’s signature programs. In this role, Rex’s work helped drive the scaling of KIPP’s model to an additional 45 schools and train over 100 new principals who went on to lead high-performing schools across the country. Apart from driving impactful program outcomes and financial stewardship, Rex was also the principal project manager and organizational contact to the federal government, ensuring that the confluence of varying data told the many stories of KIPP’s impact on addressing educational inequality.

    Formerly, Rex served in various finance, accounting, business development, and audit capacities at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In these roles, Rex oversaw multimillion-dollar portfolios consisting of federal grants & contracts, industry-sponsored research, and philanthropic funds. Drawing inspiration from all these capacities, Rex is a change management champion and subject matter expert, having partaken in institutional implementation projects and best practice symposiums.

    During his tenure at UCLA, Rex also served in several positions on the UCLA Staff Assembly Executive Board. A volunteer-run organization, Staff Assembly’s primary focus is staff engagement and is dedicated to promoting the overall welfare and interests of all 42,000+ staff employees, while also providing a forum wherein employees can discuss institutional issues and elevate their feedback on policies and activities onward. On his last year at UCLA, Rex was a founding Board member of the UCLA Asian & Pacific Islander Faculty & Staff Association, serving as the Co-Vice Chair of Community Engagement. The space was created with a focal point on API community building and sharing cultural insights with the larger UCLA community.
